The main grades and characteristics of aluminum plates are as follows:
1 series aluminum plate. For example, 1050, 1060, and 1100 aluminum plates are industrial pure aluminum plates with good elongation and tensile strength, plasticity, corrosion resistance, conductivity, and thermal conductivity. The production process is relatively simple, the production technology is relatively mature, and the price has a huge advantage compared to other high-end aluminum alloys. The disadvantages are low strength, inability to be strengthened by heat treatment, poor machinability, difficulty in brazing, and susceptibility to compression deformation. Mainly used in products with low strength requirements, such as automotive insulation panels, billboards, building exterior decoration, wall decoration, electrical lighting, heat exchangers, kitchenware, conductive materials, chemical equipment, electronic devices, inland ship equipment, various containers (wine cans, pressure tanks, tea stoves, etc.), instruments and meters, signs (equipment signs, road signs, motor vehicle license plates, etc.), hardware cookware, and machine components with low stress.
2 series aluminum plate. For example, aluminum plates such as 2011, 2014, 2017, 2024, and 2219 are also known as hard aluminum, with copper as the main alloying element. Has high strength and good cutting performance, with a certain degree of heat resistance, and can be heat treated. The disadvantage is poor corrosion resistance. Mainly used in aircraft structures (such as skins), aerospace, weapons, engines, pistons, automotive airframes, ship hulls, and load-bearing components.
3 series aluminum plate. Aluminum plates such as 3003, 3004, 3005, and 3105, also known as rust proof aluminum plates, mainly contain manganese as the alloying element. The strength is higher than that of industrial pure aluminum plate, and the formability, fusion and corrosion resistance are good. Due to the inability to strengthen through heat treatment, cold processing is often used in the process to improve its mechanical properties. Mainly used in the application scope of industrial pure aluminum panels and other areas with higher hardness requirements, commonly used in various fields such as kitchenware, food and chemical storage and transportation, heat sinks, household appliances (such as air conditioning, refrigerators, washing machines, etc.).
4 series aluminum plate. For example, aluminum plates such as 4005, 4003, 4043, 4032, and aluminum alloys with silicon as the main alloying element, are mostly not heat treated for strengthening. The silicon content is usually between 4.5% and 6.0%. Low melting point, good melt fluidity, easy shrinkage, and good corrosion resistance; Has good wear resistance and heat resistance. Mainly used in welding materials, etc.
5 series aluminum plate. For example, aluminum plates such as 5052, 5056, 5083, 5050, 5005, and 5042 are high-end aluminum alloy plates, with the main alloying element being Mg. Has good processing and forming performance, corrosion resistance, welding performance, fatigue strength, and moderate static strength. It cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, but the surface can be polished, which is relatively beautiful.
